Incredible India

The Taj Mahal was just one of the amazing experiences we had while in India. I feel so fortunate to have had this opportunity to travel as co-director of an MBA study tour for Seattle University. The students were fantastic; and aside from a few upset tummies it was a spectacular two weeks in India. I'm still a bit sleepy with jet lag at this point, but it was well worth the effort (of course I haven't finished grading their papers yet!) I'll post an album on Facebook soon with more pictures.

Hello New Career

So, most of you have heard that I am leaving Seattle University to join Expeditors International. They are a global logistics company located in downtown Seattle. As of today, they are actually creating a position for me whereby I'll be managing account managers and reporting to the VP of account management. My official start date is Monday, but I've got a few months of training before I step into my new role. I'm super excited. Here I am modeling the golf clothes they sent for Luke.

Nanny Visits- And Saves The Day!

While I was off in India, Luke's mom came to help out and visit. By all accounts, she was wonderful to have around and made sure Luke stayed sane. Here she is posing at Pike's Place Market.

Rattlesnake Lake

With lots of little swimmers in our family- this was a favorite summer spot for Team Talbott. We even took Grandma and Grandpa there.

Stan and Tina Visit

To our great delight, we finally got a long overdue visit from Grandpa Stan and Grandma Tina. We took them to the zoo, biking, and of course, to the new casino by our house.

Compass Update

With this Friday's bike club numbers reaching beyond capacity- Luke's business is clearly filling a need in the valley. During a recent conversation about how awesome his last meeting at Snoqualmie Middle School was, Luke said "It was so amazing!" I said, "You don't really care if you make any money with this, do you?" And he demurred, "No, not really!" How's that for job satisfaction??

This evening was a bike ride and catered couples dinner at Rattlesnake Lake.

Kindergartener Mason

Here's 5yo Mason on his first day of Kindergarten.

This is the true Mason!
Not in the least bit nervous- and he loves his teacher, Ms. Orcutt. He is in the afternoon class and seems to be doing just fine with the timing. Delaney is still napping in the afternoon so this gives Luke a nice break for a few hours.

First Grader

Mackenzie is thrilled to be a first grader in Ms. V-C's class this year. She seemed so grown up in her fancy dress.
Even her hair looks mature?!
Day 2: A little sassier and casual. We know she is going to have a great year!
