Las Vegas Getaway

Luke and I spent a long weekend away in sunny Las Vegas to recharge those winter batteries and take a break from the Team. Thankfully my parents were willing to watch the kids, and by all accounts they had a fun time together. We were definitely spoiled by sunny relaxing days and lack of an agenda. We've decided this should be a yearly thing. We were even more convinced it should become a tradition when we returned to rain and cold!
Here is the lobby of our fabulous hotel- the new Signature series at MGM. They are non-gaming; designed for high rollers to purchase and stay in when they visit the city. They were impeccably appointed, without a single detail overlooked. And the service was amazing! We stayed on the 36th floor looking down the strip.
The Signature has its own pools, which we enjoyed the second day, but the other days we went to the main pools at the MGM. Here's one of the five. On the last day we floated down a lazy river pool behind the palm trees here. Cocktail waitresses and good music added to the ambiance.
You can bet we spent lots of time doing this! It was heavenly.
I have an itty bitty sunburn- but it was worth it!

Gaming, anyone?

Our neighbor Jim told us we had to visit the "lion" machines near the elevators at MGM. We went three or four times a day to stock up so we could play blackjack on the tables. Seriously, we must've won $1200 or more just walking by and picking one of the machines. We later read that those specific ones pay out $750,000 daily. It was the craziest thing you've ever seen!
Stocking up at the "lions" before one of our fabulous dinners.
Walking up and down the strip in the 75 degree weather. We even stopped at Margaritaville to have lunch on the upstairs deck.

M&M&D

We brought back t-shirts from the M&M store in Vegas- here's an attempt at getting all three to pose for the camera.

Trampoline!

We finally got the kids a trampoline and it has been so much fun. Mackenzie likes to bounce and dance to music, and we've created counting workouts and competitions for her and Mason. Very useful considering our mid-March winter weather.

Hundredth Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was Kenzie's 100th day party. She also got chosen as a Very Important Cougar for being "helpful, kind, and polite"! Yay Kenz!

Morning View

This morning when the kids were getting ready for the bus I snapped some pictures off of our back deck. It's hard to believe it's the middle of March, but it is really pretty.

After sledding

Mason and Mackenzie were pretty worn out after sledding today after church. I wanted to take a picture of Mason's funny hair (it was all sticking up) but this is what I got from them instead. Funny kids.

Unexpected Snow

After playing outside in the sun yesterday, today's snow came as a surprise.
That's Mason in the background licking it up!
Goodness, what a motley crew!
We all snuggled down for a movie this evening. Mason couldn't tear himself away; but the other three looked up for a minute. What a fun family Saturday we had.

Gymnastics

Although Mackenzie has been attending for awhile; tonight was Mason's first night at gymnastics. They both love it and are pretty adept; all things considered.
Mackenzie doing a bridge for coach Judy.
Laney hanging out on the balcony watching- of course she dropped her paci over even though there is plastic there to keep things from falling!
Mason on the bars. He is strong!
